His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, issued an Emiri decree establishing the Civil Defence General Directorate in the emirate of Sharjah.
Decree No. 14 of 2019 stipulates that a law shall be issued on the organisation of the Civil Defence General Directorate, its objectives, functions, and all its affairs.
The Civil Defence General Directorate shall enjoy the legal personality and the full legal capacity necessary to achieve its objectives.
According to the Decree, the members of the Civil Defence General Directorate will be identified by the committee of the transition, and will be subject according to the law on social security in the Emirate of Sharjah, No. 5 of 2018, and the concerned parties shall implement it each in its respective field.
The transition will be by Government of Sharjah and the Ministry of the Interior. The reports and recommendations will be submitted to the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC).
The Decree is effective from the date of issuance and other competent authorities should implement its provisions each in its respective field. The Decree also shall be published in the official gazette.
