Sultan Al Qasimi issues Emiri Decrees on 'Ruwad' and SSC’s formation

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued Decree-Law, on the annexation of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Foundation (Ruwad) to Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD).

Decree-Law No. 4 of 2020 stipulates that Sharjah Entrepreneurship Foundation (Ruwad) to be annexed to Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) and under SEDD’s head in the organisational structure.

According to the Decree-Law, Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) devolves all material and moral rights, liabilities, and the assets of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Foundation (Ruwad) from the date of the implementation of the provisions of the Decree-Law.

The employees of the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Foundation (Ruwad) are transferred to Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD), and they are accommodated on the financial grades and job titles in the Government of Sharjah, based on the proposal of the SEDD’s head and the approval of the Sharjah Executive Council (SEC), with their rights to salary and leave.

According to the Decree-Law, Law No. (2) of 2005 regarding the establishment of Sharjah Entrepreneurship Foundation (Ruwad) shall be annulled, provided that all the applicable laws, regulations and decisions remain valid, until they are amended or annulled.

Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC) shall be notified of the Decree-Law as soon as it is convened.

The Decree is effective from the date of issuance and shall be published in the Official Gazette. Other competent authorities should implement its provisions each in its respective field.

His Highness issues Emiri Decree on SSC’s formation

His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has issued an Emiri Decree on the formation of the Sharjah Sports Council (SSC).Emiri Decree No. 18 of 2020 stipulates that His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami shall be appointed as the Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, with the membership of 10 members.

According to Decree, the SSC’s Council distributes administrative positions among its members at its 1st meeting, and elects a vice-chairman from its members by consensus or by direct secret ballot.

The Decree specified the term of membership in the board to be 4 years, starting from its first meeting, and it may be extended for a similar period or periods.

The board continues to conduct its business upon the expiry of its term until a new board is appointed and it is permissible to reappoint those whose membership has expired.

The Decree is effective from the date of issuance. Other competent authorities should implement its provisions each in its respective field, and shall be published in the Official Gazette.
