Writers and intellectuals value the decision made by Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah and the Honorary President of the UAE Union of Men of Letter and Writers, which considers the day of May 26 of each year as the Emirati Writer's Day. This decision is in corresponding to the foundation of the UAE Union of Men of Letter and Writers, asserting to "Gulf Newspaper" that the Declaration is part of His Highness's efforts to support the cultural movement in the country and is a tribute to the Emirati writers in various cultural and creative fields, which enhances the UAE cultural activity, which finds the support of the state and its leaders, and encourages the authors to present what is distinctive and sedate in addition to intensifying the depth and richness of their literary works.

According to Dr. Wageih Fanous, the Secretary-General of the Lebanese Writers Union: "The Lebanese Writers Union salutes the invitation made by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, the Honorary President of the Union of UAE Union of Men of Letter and Writers to revive 'the Beirut International and Arab Book Fair; as it have a cultural and historic value gifted to the Arab world and the Arab intellectuals and men of letter. His Highness has revealed a number of cultural initiatives and cultural projects adopted by the Emirate of Sharjah, including the establishment of the House of Poetry in Lebanon, which will contribute to the development of richness of the Arab world by means of literary publications, and brings us a generation of Lebanese creative writers and intellectuals.
