These towns are as follows: firstly, Qalhat which is a very large town of Moors, with very beautiful and well-built houses. Here many merchants and important traders and other gentlemen live. Just after this place there is another called Tewe. It is small and has plenty of fresh water, where all the ships sailing in this region come to water. Just past this village lies another called Algins, which has also a very good harbour. Heading along the coast, one immediately comes to another place called Qurayat. which is inhabited by very noble people and a busy goods trade. Here and in the villages which surround the town, there are plenty of provisions and many horses are born here. They are of excellent quality and the Moors from Hormuz come to buy them and send or take them to India. After Qurayat, one comes to another village called Etei, where the King of Hormuz has a fortress. Beyond this fortress, one comes to a place called Muscat. Muscat is a very large town, where many very respectable people live; this city has a very busy goods trade and a very largefishing trade. Many large fish is caught and then salted and dried. This they trade in many different places. Heading past this town and along the coast towards Hormuz, one comes to another village called Sohar. Beyond this village there is another called Roçaquem, which has a very good fortress belonging to the King of Hormuz, who keeps these fortresses to wage war on other places or when there is an uprising. Beyond this fort of Roçaquem, further inland, there is another place called Samael.
