Al-Ḥīra Assembly

101 Yet ‘midst this change, some signs remain so dear, Familiar beacons that draw my heart near. Six years have passed in time’s relentless flight, And now, the seventh year enters my sight. Since we did part, the landscape hath transformed, But in these signs, our memories are reborn. In every change, the past whispers its tales, In valleys’ meeting, where time’s ship sets sails. In unison, the Three Notables implore: “O King! We earnestly appeal for your magnanimity towards Al-Nābighah. He has been estranged from your favor for seven lengthy years, as expressed in his own verse.” Al-Nuʿmān ibn al-Munẓir, contemplatively: “I shall consider this matter.”
