Afonso de Noronha sailed for Ormuz; the news that he received on the way about the galleys having withdrawn; how D. Antão de Noronha sent a large fleet to that fortress; and how he sent Francisco Barreto to Cochin with powers from the governor, to assume responsibility for the carracks of the kingdom. The Viceroy hastened his embarkation, and three carracks out of the six that left Portugal in April of this year 1552, arrived at the bar of Goa, on 8 September.
