_ 196 _ When Father Master Gaspar learnt this, he ordered me to go to Goa, and when he saw my sickness, because he had experience of Ormuz, he told me that he was sending me to Ormuz because the great heat there would dissipate this chill and the humour that I had in my stomach. Praised be Our Lord, although the humour has not entirely left me, since I arrived here up to the time of writing I have found myself with better physically than in any part of India. 12. Also, Father, the young people we brought here are very well; one of them was ill with fever for a few days. This summer, because of the great heat, we have not had any processions, but now, because the weather is getting cooler, they are already beginning to go in procession to St Paul from the principal church, with the boys singing the litany and other verses. The Vicar is very pleased with the boys and with Father António, they love each other well and both carry out all their religious duties with much fervour. 13. Every Friday we have a Mass here for the Confraternity of Bom Jesus to which almost everyone in the town comes, so the church cannot hold them all. Father António preaches at Mass and the boys sing the office accompanied by the organ, which arouses much devotion among the people. Many come to our house
