_ 255 _ Fol, 6v. Of Preserved Ginger: The bahar of preserved ginger has 20 faraçolas, but no picotá. A faraçola has 10 mãos and 19 quiazes. The bahar has 3 1/2 quintals, 5 arratels. The faraçola has 22 1/2 arratels, 2 ounces, 3 meticals. The mão has 2 arratels, 1½ ounces. Of Candied Sugar: The bahar of candied sugar is like that of preserved ginger, except as regards price and needs no more explanation. Of Cotton: The bahar of cotton has 25 faraçolas and 2 mãos, that is: 20 faraçolas in the bahar, plus 5 faraçolas and 2 mãos as picotá. However, buying and selling is only done in bahars or mãos. Buying in bahars gives the abovementioned picotá, but buying in mãos in the retail shops does not have a picotá, as I shall explain later. The bahar has 252 mãos with its picotá, which are 4 quintals, 16 arratels, 10 ounces. THE mão has 2 ½ arratels, 2 ounces and 1 metical, together with a picotá. Fol. 7 Of Gum Mastic: The bahar of gum mastic has 20 faraçolas, with one more faraçola as a picotá. So, it has 21 faraçolas. The faraçola has 11 mãos and 7 3/4 quiazes. The bahar has 3 1/2 quintals, 26 1/2 arratels. The faraçola has 23 arratels and 11 ½ ounces, with its picotá.
