But this is not possible since there are many Fathers, indeed almost all of them, who spend a year or at times two during which they have no news of us nor do we have news of them due to the great distance which lies between us. As do those in the Moluccas Islands, which is a long journey, as are Japan, Malacca and Ormuz from where accurate news does not reach us, except from their letters if they are given to us.
