The people of Ormuz welcomed me well and all showed pleasure in seeing me, and the people of the country did not cease to be surprised and to wonder at seeing me in such different clothes from those in which they had seen me the previous time I was there. I confess to Your Reverence that many times I have compassion and sorrow at seeing these people so far from our truth and so consumed by their sins and errors.
