_ 382 _ He also began to declare himself a prophet and a close relative of Ali and say that the kings of those parts were no longer to observe the law of Mohammed and of Ali properly. He created his own law and named eleven of his relatives as prophets, making a total of twelve including himself. He had a red cap made with a tail, with twelve folds in it, and wore this on his head. All who followed him wore this cap and carried a book which contained the laws which he had created. He sent ambassadors to all the kingdoms and lands of Persia, and where they accepted, they became his vassals, to pay tributes and to keep his law. Those who did not accept he attacked and laid waste the land, employing great cruelty, destroying the mosques and minarets, and turning the buildings into stables for his army. And because the King of Siraj, who was a great Lord did not wish to wear the cap he attacked and destroyed him, killing many Moors and causing great destruction in the city, which then submitted to his command.
