Cardinal Pacheco died yesterday, without any fever or pain or any other cause, but according to what one hears from emotion at the loss of the pontificate, of which he had great hope. Intense desires are so powerful that when they are disappointed, they kill. The emperor's ambassador, Count Darcos, his chief chamberlain, made his obedience, and has already gone, and other stays here. I send with this a copy of the speech he made to which the Pope himself replied, as is the custom. The Polish ambassador will make his obedience this week.
