The Portuguese in the Sea of Oman

_ 455 _ was a man whom the last Governor(A) had sent with letters to the Prester in company with the Bishop(B); and that in the port there were some slaves belonging to him and to other Portuguese, to whom a message could be taken from the foists to come and embark to be brought here; and that the Moors had sent them to an island nearby(C). This Portuguese was to bring letters from the Bishop and the Prester, which the Viceroy was awaiting, and he promises that when he receives a message from the Prester that he is willing to receive me, he will send for me, for such are the orders of the King of Portugal now reigning, or whoever is reigning for him(D).
