_ 483 _ In the same year (1561) Luis Frois sent a letter to the priest Marco Nunes in Portugal, Goa, on the 28th of November,1561, and mentioned that the Turks were happy in Abyssinia:(58) About prester John, Your Reverence will know what obstacles are being prepared so that we never go there(A). A Jew wrote a letter this year from Suez or from Mecca(B), in which he gave the news that Father Bishop Dom Andre(C) is being kept prisoner and captive with his companions in the power of the King reigning at present, [383r] who is considered a tyrant.
