_ 485 _ In the same year (1561) Father Gonzalo Rodriguez sent a letter to Father Interiano Quadros, on the 7th of April 1561, and he mentioned the king's residence in Ormuz, and the residence of Reis Sharaf:(59) When we arrived at the pass, there were several royal, richly adorned tents set up at the approach, with two lions as armorial bearings, of the kind they usually bring to the field. At the entrance, there was a magnificent gateway that this King had recently built(A). With a device in the language, Persian I believe, because this is the normal thing in this court among the nobles(B).
