_ 527 _ In the same year (1561) Father Antonio de Heredia sent a letter to one of the distinguished Jesuit priests, Lisbon, in the fall of 1561, and he stated that he had made a mistake when he thought that the sister of the King of Ormuz wanted to convert to Christianity:(64) Item: As for the mission in Ormuz, when the society had been there six years – that is, Father Superior Gaspar(A) and Father Goncalo Rodriques(B) and Master Gaspar had built a hermitage on that island outside the city, on the site of a small mosque or sepulchre, on a hillock near a mountain of salt and sulphur, where he had converted a yogi(C), it was realized that the Fathers could not live there.
