_ 394 _ In the same year (1566) A copy of the paragraph written from Venizia, on the 20th of July 1566, mentioning the opening of Basra Road:(22) From Alepo there has been a letter of the 29th April in which there are advices that the road of Baçora had been opened, along which passes all the spicery of Ormuz, and that in Baçora there was a Factor of the King who was selling it, which is what used to belong to the Captains of Ormuz, whence they drew in three years, sixty and seventy thousand ducats. To Alepo there had arrived a large quantity of cinnamon and it had come down to three parts its value of what it was worth formerly.
