_ 76 _ In the same year (1564) Reis Nur al-Din sent a letter to King Dom Sebastiao, on the 25th of May 1564, mentioning that no more than twenty-three ships were built in Suez. Also in Basra there were no movements, and the ships did not exceed ten in number:(15) Senhor, Even should it be in my power to do so, I would never lose an opportunity of doing daily what my desires urge me to, for many reasons which impel me to be a slave of Your Highness, and far more should I do so on account of the many favors and honors I receive day by day, joined to which there occurs here things which i t is necessary Your Highness should be informed. All these reasons being such that they urge me never to weary of writing to Your Highness, and whereas by the (15) Document no. and reference.
