_ 115 _ He requested me to take measures so that neither he, nor his servants and vassals should suffer such offences. Having seen this request, by the present letter, it is my wish and command that henceforth these my Captains, officials and persons of whatever rank and condition they may be are not to take nor cause to be taken any houses belonging to the King or his servants or slaves against their will. Likewise it is my wish and command that all Portuguese and vassals of mine who are serving me in the said city and Kingdom of Ormuz or who go there to conduct business and lodge in rented houses are to pay to the owners of the houses during that time all that they have contracted with them to pay in rent and at the times agreed with them. I hereby give notice of this to my Captain Major and Governor of the parts of India, the Chief Justice, the Captain and Chief Justice of the said city of Ormuz, and to all other officials of whatever description and persons to whom this decree is shown and to whomsoever it concerns that I command them to obey it and cause what it contains to be obeyed and adhered to in every particular without any doubt or obstacle being attached to it, for this is my wish; and as confirmation I have commanded this decree to be issued to him, signed by me and sealed
