An enquiry into such cases is to be conducted by the Senior Criminal Chief Justice of this court and the Chief Justice of the fortress at that fortress every six months. If any of these enquiries disclose guilt, the goods belonging to the guilty parties which are discovered in Goa or anywhere else shall be subject to embargo, both as regards the amount of the penalty and of the loss suffered by the parties concerned. The said Chief Justice will conduct the enquiry every six months and will send his reports at every monsoon. I hereby also give notice to the Senior Criminal Justice, and also to the Senior Chief Justice, the Captain of Ormuz, the Chief Justice of that fortress and other Chief Justices, Judges, officials and persons whom it concerns, and I command them to obey it and observe it and cause it to be obeyed and observed in every way in accordance with its content in the present writ, without hesitation or obstacle of any kind. This is to have the validity of a writ although it is be effective for more than one year, notwithstanding the ordinance in Book 2, Para 20, which disposes to the contrary.
