Episodes of the year 1581 Father Rui Vicente, Bishop of the Diocese, sent a letter to Father Claudio Acquaviva, Superior General of the Society of Jesus in Rome, Goa, on the 6th of November 1581, where he mentioned the Turkish presence in the Gulf region:(31) Those who are in Mongolia(A) feel that iron weapons and power are more necessary than words and determination for their conquest, and this is not new since these are people of that evil caste of Mohammed; however he(B) does great favours to the Fathers and he helps and sometimes listens to them although this place is so surrounded by infernal birds, which come at once and eat(C) the seeds (A) Father Superior Aquaviva and Father Monserrate.
