_ 174 _ a neighbour of Daman normally its proper name was Manderano(A)which gave many supplies and horsemen since, even though he was still a friend of the state, there were certain informers against it, so that it seemed to them to be a good opportunity to help each other. They crossed the entire country and destroyed and robbed it at will. They ensured that no-one could sow anything for many leagues around, and took cattle and captured those farm workers whom they found. When winter came, finding themselves exhausted and without hope of taking Daman, it seemed to them that we would be terrified by their threats, and since the Mongols had retreated, they withdrew to their countries, and would wait until August when they would return to surround the city with far greater force. The captain of Daman(B) entered the lands of Choutia with many men and took large numbers of cattle and people, with which he managed to repair to some extent the damage done to the land, sowing a few vegetables. 6.
