_ 242 _ As for the mosques, if for some reason they cannot be completely eliminated, the Council asks His Majesty that the mosque and minaret in the centre of the city near the fortress should be removed from that site, where many times every day the accursed Mohammed is loudly invoked to the great offence of the Christians who hear and see this; and that no salaams or public reverence be paid to the said false Mohammed in any part of his lands, because it greatly offends Christians.
