I also wrote to them some years ago and in one of your instructions I entrusted you with the task that you were to perform, on my behalf, with those kings, namely, to send messages to them, along with my letters, in the style and manner that seemed appropriate, so as to persuade them to do what I should like them to do; though, up till now, I have received not a single reply to those letters. Well, I [now] notice they are beginning to have an effect, because the King of Persia sent me his ambassador when he received the first one, I thought I should write more letters to those three kings this year as well.
