These are still purely chronological, but from 1155 to 1306 (1742-3 to 1888-9) are geographically subdivided in separate provincial series, known as Ahkām Defterleri. The Shikayet and Ahkam Defterleri together number 530 volumes. The Ahkam include the following series on the Arab lands:- Sham 9 volumes 1155 to 1326 (1742-3 to 1908) Haleb 9 “ 1155 to 1266 (1742-3 to 1849-50) Diyarbekir 9 “ 1155 to 1292 (1742-3 to 1875) Jezã’ir and Raqqa 25 “ 1159 to 1292 (1746 to 1875) A special secret Mühimme series on Egypt consisting of fifteen defters covers the years 1119 to 1333 (1707-8 to 1914-15). Another series of direct interest for Arab history is the Jizye Defterleri, dealing with the poll-tax paid by non-Muslims, and coming from the Finance records. These, numbering 418 volumes and covering the years 958 to 1255 (1551 to 1839-1840), are subdivided by provinces. Other series of defters of possible interest are: ١. Düvel-i Ejnebiye Defterleri.-Dealings with foreign states, chiefly consular and commercial-106 volumes, by states, 975 to 1332 (1567-8 to 1913-14).
