_ 150 _ It is our pleasure to afford opportunity and permission to all our natives, and likewise to the foreigners who are in our Kingdoms and who hold our letters of naturalisation, that on their wishing to send laden ships to the said Indies and such as we may judge proper for the navigation of those parts, and expedient to do so, properly equipped and armed for their security, and for that the merchandize as they should be, and as is expedient for such a navigation, that they shall be able to do so with all and any merchandize they may wish and be favourable to them. And what they may deem to be advantageous, and this to date from the making of this Charter and throughout the month of January next, of the year one thousand five hundred and two, they paying us solely from what in its good time they shall bring in return, one fourth without any further tithe nor tenth entrance fee, because it so pleases us to condone those who up to the said day of January five hundred and two shall so navigate. However, we so notify it in this way, both because it may be known to all, and be taken advantage of, this grant of ours which we make in this wise, And so that we should be informed who are those who should wish to load and in what ships it is to be done, and in what quantity each has to be laden, and what number of ships can be filled by those who would thus wish to freight, those who should thus
