The Portuguese in the Sea of Oman

Afonso de Albuquerque undertook this mission, successfully capturing Ormuz at the entrance to the Gulf in 1507, although he failed in his attempt to seize Bab al-Mandab. This volume chronicles the conflicts and battles between the Portuguese and the cities along the eastern coast of Oman, as well as the confrontations in Ormuz on the Persian coast.
