_ 146 _ When Gordun Shah saw Malik Qais regretted the promised he had given he began to complain bitterly about him, As a result of his complaint on the one hand, and bribes on the other to those who were against Malik, the matter was put before a Mullah called Sheikh Doniar, with the help of those who had been bribed, hoping to have some future advantageous arrangement with Gordun Shah, put the case before Malik Qais as one in which his word of honour had been given. Furthermore, Gordun Shah was not able at will to close and open the Strait it was argued, as he would not want to eat the dates of Moghistan himself. The Queen, either because her mind told her what should be done or because she thought he was handling the matter carelessly went to the King and told him that on no account should he allow an eagle’s nest to settle on his doorstep, which would devour his home. The King, half indignant a the importance the Queen was attaching to Gordun Shah and now under the influence of others wanted to show himself to be a man before her, so he replied that Gordun Shah was not an eagle but that he himself was one and that just by flapping his wings he would that this matter was now for him simply a question of honour, and he did not want to have to show the world that he was concerned about such a man.
