_ 415 _ In the same year (1507) The peace agreement was concluded between Afonso de Albuquerque and Khwaja al-Attar, in Ormuz, on the 10th of October 1507:(7) The verses from Camoes which follow have their origin in the History of Fernao Lopes de Castanheda (Book II p 350) which refers to the “miracle” shown during the capture of Ormuz in October 1507. Whilst making these agreements on the third day after the battle Our Lord ordained that the miracle should be performed which He had wought on our behalf in that battle. It was that many dead bodies of Moors began to appear on the surface of the sea, which were pierced by many arrows, Then the commander was informed of this he was amazed and ordered some of the bodies to be taken on board.
