_ 427 _ In the same year (1507) Afonso de Albuquerque sent a letter from Ormuz to Don Francisco de Almeida, late October - early November 1507, justifying his actions after having been subjected to much criticism:(9) Note of the substance of a new Portuguese letter written from India by Alfonso d’Alborghetto [Afonso de Albuquerque], Captain of the naval armada of the King of Portugal.
