_ 170 _ In the same year (1508) The King of Ormuz sent a letter in 1508 to the Sultan of Gujarat informing him of the Portuguese occupation of his country, and asking for aid. This is mentioned in the book: “The Red Sea-India” by its author Anne-Marguerite Joannon:(4) The letter addressed at the beginning of 1508, in the name of the king (vali) of Ormuz to the Sultan of Gujarat, Mahmud I (1458-1511), to inform him of the Portuguese offensive against his capital.
