_ 191 _ In the same year (1508) A statement from the Viceroy Dom Francisco de Almeida, came in response to the protest of the captains of Afonso de Albuquerque’s fleet, Ormuz, on the 26th of May 1508, recording the differences between the testimonies of the witnesses:(9) The statement from the Viceroy, D. Francisco de Almeida in reply to the protest of the Captains of the armada of Afonso de Albuquerque. An order from the Viceroy to the effect that the differences be recorded between the statements of the witnesses, to which should be added everything which they may come to remember after their departures.
