Manuel I sent a letter to the judges, sheikhs, judicial officials, nobles, knights, assistants, dignitaries, gentlemen, and people, from Alcochete, on the 19th of June 1508, advising them about the Armada fleet that went to India, and explaining to them the occupation of Ormuz, and the commercial importance of that city:(13) The note concerning this letter in Das Relações is as follows: First news in Portugal on the capture of Ormuz.
