The Sheikh was notified concerning the departure of the Turk’s army but took no heed of it, saying how he did not believe that a trader could become a horseman. Although after this report there were others indicating that the Turk’s forces were close by, he still sent for information and, when he received a positive reply, he believed it but arrogantly chose to ignore it. So, just as if he was on a hunting trip, and with no greater force than those from the camp itself, he sallied forth against the Turk amidst great rejoicing with thirty thousand horses.
