The Portuguese in the Sea of Oman

It was completely surrounded by walls and towers decorated with hewn stone and cubic turrets. The houses were very opulent and well built. The king was an Arab and a vassal of Sheikh Ismael. Everyone bore his emblem. It was an important centre fro breeding horses and cattle. Tangas and larins, used throughtout the whole of India, were minted there. The only water was from wells.
