_ 402 _ Document No. (21): King Dom Manuel I sent a letter from Almeirim (the coasts) to Afonso de Albuquerque, the governor of India, on 2nd of March 1514. In this letter, the Portuguese king asked for many inquiries about Mecca, including the presence of troops and the distance from Jeddah, as well as about Suez and Cairo, as if a serious matter was being prepared for the occupation of Mecca. (page no. 206) Document No. (22): Afonso de Albuquerque sent a letter from Goa on 25th of October 1514, to the king, informing him of his victories on the borders of India and that he would not remain there without the fortress of Ormuz, and other details. (page no. 210) Document No. (23): Orders were issued to Cristovao de Brito (location unknown) on 28th of October 1514, from Afonso de Albuquerque to seize any ships and their cargo that had no agreement with the Portuguese. (page no. 213) Document No. (24): On the 21st of February 1515, Afonso de Albuquerque arrived in Ormuz to arrange its affairs after the rebellion led by Reis Hamid, the minister of Ormuz on behalf of the King of Ormuz.
