Now another fleet had to be sent to Bahrain, and he asked him to say which task he preferred. Antonio Correa said he was looking more for honour than for profit and so opted for Bahrain. Then Diogo Fernandez de Beja, who was present when Antonio Correa declined the command of the armada for Diu, went to the governor and showed him a warrant he had from the king, in order to persuade the governor to let him have the command of the armada going to Diu. Up till then he had not shown this warrant because he had not wanted to take the assignment from his friend Antonio Coriea, and so the governor gave it to him. Antonio Correa, having accepted to lead the expedition to Bahrain, set off on fifteenth of June 1521 in a galleon. With him went his captains Goncalo Pereira in another galleon, Fernando de Santo Mayor in a galley, João Pereira in a caravelle, Lourenco de Moura and Cristovao Sarnaché in two fustas, and another whose name I do not know. In these ships sailed four hundred Portuguese and with them went Rais Sharaf as commander of the fleet of the King of Ormuz, which consisted of two hundred terrades,
