The Portuguese in the Sea of Oman

_ 589 _ Document No. (9): Gaspar do Casal sent a letter to the king, in 1529, regarding the affairs of Ormuz. (page no. 82) Document No. (10): Cristovao de Mendonca sent a letter from Ormuz on 18th of November 1529, to King Dom Joao III, informing him of the events that took place in Ormuz, some certain disputes and the state of the castle. (page no. 86) Document No. (11): A letter was sent by the priest of Ormuz, Antonio Lopes, on the 18th of November 1529, which stated. (page no. 98) Document No. (12): It was learned in January 1530, that the Turkish commander Rais Suleiman had been killed, and that Mustafa and Khawaja Safar, two of the Turkish commanders, did not dare to return to Jeddah or Suez, due to their involvement in treason with the Turks. Therefore, they decided to occupy Aden and install Mustafa as the king thereof, that his position and headquarters would be there. These events were mentioned in the book: "History of the Discovery and Conquest of India by the Portuguese", by Fernao Lopes de Castanheda, (chapters 14-16). (page no. 105)
