(page no. 133) Document No. (18): Rashid bin Ahmed Al-Masqati, the ruler of Ormuz, sent a letter to Dom João III, requesting the reconstruction of Qalhat. (page no. 143) Document No. (19): Mir Sharaf, the deputy ruler of Ormuz, sent a letter to Dom João III, stating that his father had been taken prisoner to Portugal. (page no. 146) Document No. (20): At the beginning of February 1532, the Portuguese fleet led by Antonio da Saldanha was heading to India. After Antonio da Saldanha arrived in Goa, Antonio da Silveira sailed to Ormuz, in response to the orders of the ruler of India, who had sent him to assume the position of commander of the Ormuz Castle. When the commander of the castle arrived in Ormuz, he received a complaint from the King of Ormuz against his brother who had tried to assassinate him, and that the Turks had a military base in Bassein under the administration of the King of Cambay in Gujarat.
