(page no. 179) Document No. (27): The King of Portugal sent a letter to the Pope, in Lisbon, on the 22th of July 1535, in which he described the Turkish Sultan among the prostitutes and the wretched and wounded soldiers. (page no. 185) Document No. (28): Luis Sarmiento, the Spanish ambassador to Portugal in Lisbon, sent a letter to the king, on the 18th of July 1536, in which he talked about the Portuguese prisoners in Constantinople.
