Joao de Castro, the Governor of India, wrote a letter to the king, dated October 1541, and sent it from Goa, referring to the voyage of Dom Estevao da Gama from Goa to Suez, to burn the Turkish ships. (page no. 477) Document No. (44): Manuel Coutinho sent a letter to the king, on the 26th of November 1541, stating that the Turks were in Aden and must be expelled. (page no. 509) Document No. (45): The King of Ormuz sent a letter to the King of Portugal, dated 1541, praising Martim Afonso de Melo as the commander of Ormuz.
