In the same year (1545) His Majesty the King sent a letter ordering his men not to seize the dwellings by force in the city of Ormuz, Ivora, on the 13th of March 1545:(14) Dom João, by the grace of God, King of Portugal and of the Algarves of this side of the sea of Africa and the other. Lord of Guinea and of the conquest, navigation and trade in Ethiopia, Arabia, Persia and India, etc. To whoever may see this my letter, I make know that the King of Ormuz has informed me that my Captains and officials in that city have been seizing his houses and giving orders for them to be seized, against their will, from his servants and vassals.
