In the same year (1545) The Chief Minister of Ormuz sent a letter to the Governor of India, from Ormuz, on the 24th of August 1545, informing him of the prosperity and peace in the city of Ormuz:(17) Sir, From the Guazil of Ormuz. Marim Afonso de Sousa wrote to be here in May to say that he was expecting the new Governor from Portuguese this September, and that there was no doubt of his coming because he held it to be definite. I therefore wished to write to Your Lordship these few lines, as in duty bound. May your arrivals be timely, any way it please God that it will be in His service and that of our Lord the King.
