In the same year (1546) Dom Joao de Castro sent a letter to his son Dom Alvaro, on the 25th of December 1546, mentioning the request of the son of the King of Qishn to expel the Turks from Qishn:(93) Dom Alvaro my son, The King of Quishn's(A) son brought me a letter of yours so that I would know you were in good health. I was very pleased because it is so long since I received news from you that I did not know what to think. But since God grants me the great favour of keeping you well, I implore you to do everything to protect your (A) Caxem/Quishn, a town on the Arabian coast. Gaspar Correia says that the son of the King of Caxem "used to come to the Governor every year to request help in expelling from his city the Mamluks who had built a castle there and exacted tributes from him".
