_ 84 _ Written in the month of Rabi’il in the year 973 Reis Nur al-Din, Guazil of Ormuz, had this written. This firman of the king was copied from Book 7 of the records of the factory of Ormuz, fos.149-97v. What is crossed out under this heading is not valid, but only what follows. Information on this point was to be sought carefully and in detail, and everything done to ascertain in the facts of this matter and the payments that had to be made, which is of great importance to His Highness’s Treasury. This was done, and I was also sent the documents relating to this investigation with reports, copies of standing orders, and statements from witnesses questioned, and everything else relevant to this matter. I examined this, together with the persons mentioned and officials with whom I dealt in this matter. It was established that Shah Tahmasp and his ambassadors and the officials of his court receive sixty-six leagues sixty-six azars of the money. Shah Tahmasp released Turun Shah, the King of Ormuz from this macarrias because he returned to the sect of Muntaza ‘Ali. The firman which Shah Tahmasp issued to him for this was translated into Ormuz by order of the Chief Treasury Officer on 9 September of this present year, 1568, as is stated in these documents.
