In the same year (1547) Domingos Barbodo sent a letter to the Governor Dom Joao de Castro, Basra, on the 7th of September 1547, and spoke about Basra that there was complete satisfaction:(27) Sir, Although I have written to you about my arrival in this place, I am must remind you again of the way it occurred. As I told you, I came in by the river on 27 August with nine terradas, all from Ormuz, the ones which left with me and others which saved me, the Lord be praised, on the way. Then on the same day it was known that I had arrived, at which there was great satisfaction among all, both Turks and the people of the place.
