_ 177 _ thus even if great care is taken, many of these items will come to Ormuz in these same ships. They do this in a very short space of time by sailing as merchants, and in this way, they have taken control over a great deal of land. It is clear that they do so, because they live from it. If there is no sailing to Basra, Your Lordship removes all the pretence from their evil thoughts, and by not buying or selling, they will receive no profit at all from the land and their Custom House will produce nothing for them. So, when they see the great expenditure that they are forced to make and the little profit, they will abandon the country. This will be a great service to God and His Highness and to the well-being of this land and people.
