_ 211 _ In the same year (1547) D. Manuel de Lima sent a letter to the Governor, D. João de Castro, Ormuz, on the 12th of October 1547, explaining the actions of Khawaja Babu in Ormuz:(55) Sir, I have given orders for eleven quintals of sulphur to be delivered by Diogo Botelho Calado, who is sailing in His Highness’s carrack, which I gave orders to be seized at my bandar, where it was being loaded secretly into a terranquim. This sulphur I am sending there I seized for the King, and I gave orders for the terranquim to be burnt because it was leaving this place loaded with such things. I receive so much information about this that, God willing, they will not dare to meddle in a commodity so strictly prohibited and so much against the interests of our lord the King.
