I hereby make known that on the death of the King my brother in the time when Sheikh Rashid served as guazil and António da Silveira as Captain, all the leaders of the Moors and Christians assembled and together asked, the Moorish people of this city if there was in Ormuz a son of the King who could be raised to the kingship. All the Moors said that Ormuz could not be without a King, and they all responded because I am that if there was a man to raise to the kingship it was I, brother of King Muhammad Shah.
