_ 235 _ In the same year (1547) Dom Bayo de Noronha (the Commander of Muscat) sent a letter to the Governor of Muscat, on the 5th of December 1547, explaining the communication between Aden and Muscat:(61) Sir, I sent word to Your Lordship about the news from Aden by a certain Pero da Mesquita, who was the first carrier to leave this coast for India. I sent the same information to Dom Manuel de Lima and what I have resolved to do about this situation. I sent to ask him for five ships to carry ninety or a hundred men because, according to what I have been informed by the Moors who had come from there about the conditions in that country, I have used them most profitably. I wrote this to Dom Manuel, but he sent me no (61) Document no. and reference.
